Dr. Wharton earned his undergraduate degree from Duke University in 1990. He graduated at the top of his class from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine in 1994. His residency in dermatology was completed at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. After finishing his training, he entered into private practice in Northwest Arkansas where he practiced for 9 years prior to moving to Louisville. While in private practice Dr. Wharton finished specialized training in dermatopathology and was on the faculty at the University of Arkansas in the Department of Dermatology. He is board certified in both Dermatology and Dermatopathology and is currently on the faculty at the University of Louisville School of Medicine. Dr. Wharton is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, American Society of MOHS Surgery, American Society of Dermatopathology, European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology, the Psoriasis Foundation, the Greater Louisville Medical Society, International Society of Dermatopathology, and the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery.

Dr. Wharton holds active medical licenses in Kentucky, Texas, Hawaii, Missouri, and Florida.



Amanda-FrancoAmanda has been passionate about nursing for over 15 years. She graduated from Murray State University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and has worked in numerous medical specialties including intensive care, allergy and immunology, oncology and dermatology. She has been part of our Dermatology practice for 5 years and her roles have grown to include histotechnology and aesthetics.

Amanda enjoys creating a customized aesthetic plan for each of her patients. A “refreshed, natural look” is what she is known for. Amanda is certified in Miradry, Ultherapy, Pelleve, Cynosure laser platforms and the injection of neurotoxins.

Amanda is now accepting new patients and looks forward to meeting the cosmetic needs of the current patients of the Aesthetics Center of Louisville.
